Give Thanks: 30 Days in the Psalms | Heather Lyn Wilson
November 2026

Give Thanks

Thirty days in the Psalms, and three things you are thankful for every day. By Thanksgiving you will have ninety, and a keepsake list to read at the table.

Pick your pace: one psalm of thanks a day, or the whole book of Psalms, all 150, in one month.

How it works

1

Read the psalm

Each morning brings a psalm of praise and thanks, with a short note pointing you into the text. On the full pace you read five psalms a day and finish all 150.

2

Write three thanks

Every day the psalm hands you a prompt, and you write three things you are thankful for. Five minutes, anchored in Scripture, not floating on feelings.

3

Watch the list grow

Your dashboard keeps every entry. Three a day quietly becomes ninety by Thanksgiving, half Scripture's words, half your own life.

4

Read it at the table

Right before the holiday, print your list: Things We Thanked God For. Bring it to Thanksgiving dinner and read it out loud. That is the moment this month builds toward.

Why the Psalms in November

November is the month our whole country pauses to give thanks, and the Psalms are where God's people have always gone to learn how. Not vague thankfulness, but naming things: You lifted me out of the pit. You set my feet on a rock. You put a new song in my mouth.

"Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name." Psalm 100:4

So here is the plan. Every day we read a psalm and write down three things we are thankful for, with the psalm doing the prompting. Three a day does not sound like much. But by Thanksgiving it is ninety, and when you read that list out loud at the table, something happens in a family.

And if you want the deep end, read all five psalms a day and finish the entire book of Psalms in one month. One hundred fifty chapters of prayer and praise. You will never be the same. Come do it with me.
